Community Interest Law
"Country Law Office provides my legal services in the community interest, at low or no cost. My primary skills are in transactions and business planning; nearly all other work will be referred out to more qualified practitioners." - Gene Yoon
Professional Bio
Gene's interest in community affairs goes back to his days as a cub reporter in high school, and college internships with WABC-TV Eyewitness News in NYC and with the FBI in Washington, DC.
After a brief stint in the New Jersey State Senate Majority Office working for State Senator Don DiFrancesco, Gene went to NYU Law School, where he served as Articles Editor on the Law Review. He then worked at Kirkland & Ellis on leveraged buyouts for clients like Bain Capital and Citicorp, before heading to California in 1999 to work in technology.
Gene has served as General Counsel for three startups: Airespace, Linden Lab, and Honeycomb. Work in Silicon Valley expanded his skills well beyond law and into finance, business planning, partnerships, sales, and product development. At Google, he was responsible for multi-billion dollar systems to protect people from bad ads.
Since finding his home in Lake County in 2017, he has fallen in love with the community. Country Law Office is his effort to devote his skills and training to his community.
